It is presumed that many drivers fail to acknowledge bikers as legitimate road users, leading to a hostile and unsafe driving environment. The lack of stricter road safety laws and regulations around biker protection further compounds these issues.

The Bikers Association emphasises that bikers play a crucial role in the smooth operation of Zambian e-commerce and the broader economy. Their work supports the e-commerce boom, which has become a cornerstone of many livelihoods in Lusaka. However, without substantial reforms and better regulation, the sector may face a slow collapse. The current working conditions, coupled with inadequate safety measures and insufficient respect from road users, highlight an urgent need for action.
